“The great sadness”, oil on canvas, 90 x 60 cms.
Many people long to have a child. With some women it is a physical, maternal need. Many women, for various reasons, sadly are unable to have a child. Ironically I have witnessed some women (who seem to lack the natural imperative) who because of societal expectations feel that they should have a child. In the worse case scenario the child is almost a fashion accessory.
On exhibition at The Artroom throughout December
I am a figurative painter based in the UK. Although I appreciate many aspects of life, it is only people that I love and that I continue to be fascinated by. Unlike many painters I don’t see things and want to paint them. My imagery arises out of my life experience (either directly or vicariously from the arts and media) and is always metaphorical.
I welcome interest in purchasing or exhibiting my artwork but please note that I don’t do commissions or repeat images.
Below are a few examples of my paintings and drawings. I hope they will interest you enough to find out more about me and my artworks.
