Neil Moore

Welcome to my website. I hope it gives you an insight into my life as an artist. There are a few of my paintings and some drawings - make what you will of them. Although I am interested in many aspects of life it is only humanity that I feel compelled to paint about. I paint not only to escape from the world, but to understand it. You may find that there are more questions than answers.

I welcome any opportunity to exhibit (it seems to me to be nonsensical to make visual art and for it not to be seen). If you are interested in exhibiting my artwork please get in touch. I have a long track record of consistent quality, output and sales (but I don’t do commissions or repeat images).

“Exile”, oil on canvas, 46 x 36 cms., 2024 £1500

Many years ago when I was taking a roll film to the chemist to be developed the assistant asked if I needed help and, being English, I indicated that the woman to my left was before me. The assistant gave me a quizzical glance and when I followed her eyes to the woman, I discovered to my embarrassment that it was in fact a cardboard life size image (the Kodak girl). It made me realise that subliminally when you see a lifesize image on the periphery of your vision you relate to them as an actual person. When the subject of the painting allows I try, as with this tiny painting, to make the figure life size to tap in to this special connection with real figures.

This painting is currently on show in the Warwickshire Open Studios ‘taster’ exhibition at The Artroom, in the Royal Priors here in my home town Leamington Spa until the 21st June 2025.
